THE CHARACTER OF TRUTH

Wherefore putting away lying, speak every man truth with his neighbour: for we are members one of another (Ephesians 4:25).

You might have observed that people who don’t tell the truth are often the ones most desperate to be believed. They get offended when others don’t believe them, yet they know they aren’t telling the truth. Liars always want to be believed because they depend on deception to achieve their goal.

But when you tell the truth, it doesn’t matter who believes you or not. That’s because the truth stands on its own. If the other person refuses to believe, they’re the one at a loss because they’re likely to make wrong decisions based on falsehood. But you’ve done your part by telling them the truth.

Truth is a gift. When you speak it, you share something of value with another person. If they receive it, it blesses them; if they reject it, they lose. The truth doesn’t change, and it doesn’t need defending. It has power in itself. That’s why those who walk in truth are at peace. They don’t strive to be believed; they simply live by the truth.

But those who lie, struggle, cry, plead, and insist on being trusted, because their confidence depends on others believing their falsehood. So, always choose truth. Live in truth. Speak and walk in truth. It liberates and strengthens your spirit while deception corrupts and enslaves. As the Scripture says, “…ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free” (John 8:32). Praise God!

PRAYER / CONFESSION

Dear Father, thank you for making me a child of truth. I walk in sincerity, integrity and uprightness of heart. Your truth fills my spirit and governs my words and actions. I refuse to yield to deception or hypocrisy. I speak the truth in love and live by the light of your Word every day, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

THE POWER IS WITHIN YOU

But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you (Romans 8:11)

What a profound Scripture we just read! So, the question is, “Who lives in you?” Is it the same Spirit that raised Jesus from the dead? If yes, then your physical body is no longer death-doomed or death-prone; rather, it’s been invigorated and made alive by the Holy Spirit. The power that made this happen isn’t residing in heaven but within you.

When you read Ephesians 1:19, it talks about the exceeding greatness of this mighty power. Then Ephesians 3:20 lets us know also that this power works within you: “Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us.”

Many people describe experiences where they felt the power of God come upon them like a jacket. The feeling can make it seem like something landed from outside. But if something were truly coming from above and you didn’t see it, you wouldn’t know it came from above until you felt it. And the only reason you assumed it came from above was because you couldn’t explain it physically, yet you felt something on you.

But the reality is deeper than the feeling. The power of God is within you and works from within you, not from outside. Everything in the New Testament reveals that we’re different from those in the Old Testament. We don’t receive power from outside us as they did. We’re filled with the Spirit.

That’s why the New Testament reality is not to cry for power to come down but to live with the consciousness that the Spirit lives within you in all His power, glory and might. When you understand this, it transforms your confidence; your prayer life changes because you realise that you’re the carrier of divine power. Live from this standpoint, and you’ll manifest the supernatural consistently and effortlessly.

PRAYER

Dear Father, thank you for the Holy Spirit who lives in me. I walk in the consciousness of His divine power that’s effectual in my spirit, soul and body. Being full of His might, I manifest the glory and perfections of Christ as I preach the Gospel with boldness and confidence, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

RELEASE THE POWER FROM WITHIN

It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life (John 6:63)

As a new creation, you don’t need another power or a special charge from outside. All the power you require is already in you. When you received the Holy Spirit, you received limitless, supernatural power to effect changes. This power, according to James 5:16 AMPC, is dynamic in its operation. What God wants is that you frequently release that power from within you.

Years ago, while preparing for a major camp meeting, I recall praying to the Lord for a fresh “turbo charge.” But the Lord spoke to my spirit and said, “What you need is the release of what you already have inside you.” Then, I asked, “Lord, how do I release it?” And He said, “It’s an act of your faith.” Immediately, I caught it.

That night, as I ministered the Word, I perceived the power of God flowing out of me like a river. Suddenly, a visible cloud, like smoke, rose from the concrete floor. This wasn’t the effect of an artificial smoke machine; the glory of God filled the place. People shouted as the cloud moved over them. The sick were healed everywhere in the arena. Glory to God!

Here’s the point: that power didn’t come from heaven into the room. It came from within me. The Lord Jesus said, “He that believeth on me…out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water” (John 7:38). He spoke of the Holy Spirit who would be given to those who believe in Him. The same Spirit is in you today.

The words that you speak are Spirit-filled words; they’re full of power. They carry life and produce healing, deliverance, and miracles. Don’t wait for something to come from outside. Release the power from within you through faith-filled words. Speak life. Speak healing. Speak salvation. Let the rivers of living water within you flow and transform the lives of those around you.

PRAYER

Dear Father, thank you for your supernatural power at work in me; your grace and glory flow from within me to bless, heal, strengthen and lift others. I function in your wisdom and ability today, transforming lives everywhere, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
